Originally, Prof. Bill Nelson, the creator of this technology, registered the device with the FDA as a biofeedback device called the EPFX. Soon thereafter, in Europe, he began to call the device QXCI. The updated version of the EPFX/QXCI became commonly known as the SCIO. In most of the rest of the world, it is called QXCI for the device that uses a serial port on the computer, and SCIO for the updated and expanded system that uses the USB port. Because of the original FDA registration, all brokers in North America have been instructed to convert to the terms EPFX/Serial for the original device and EPFX/USB for the updated system. Simply stated, QXCI = EPFX and SCIO = EPFX. We apologize for the confusion this may cause you, and regret the confusion it causes us! Unfortunately to use the other designations, or, even better, to come up with a snappier name, the FDA registration process would have to begin anew. Bureaucracy. Oh, well.
